Data inversion of size distribution of submicron aerosol particles by using dual charger system for real-time measurements

Abstracts
For real-time measurements, data inversion of size distribution of the submicron aerosol particles by using a dual
charger system have been performed. The dual charger system consists of a unipolar field charger and a unipolar
diffusion charger. First, we designed and performed the evaluation of the dual charger system. Then, we converted
electric charge data into a lognormal size distribution using a data inversion algorithm. Error ranges of the geometric
mean diameter and total number concentration of submicron aerosol were below 10% compared with results
obtained by a scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS).
