Abstracts
Bioaerosols, which are airborne particles of biological origin, include airborne bacteria, viruses, fungi, pollen,
and other biological fragments. Bioaerosols have received public attention due to their health effects such as
allergic reaction and respiratory diseases. Recently, bioaerosols, which are regarded as a major pollutant, are being
regulated by the law in indoor environments. There are several methods to control bioaerosols in indoor
environment such as filtration, electric ionization, and UV irradiation. Here, heating the air was tested as a method
to control E. coli bioaerosols. A heating tube was designed in order to control biological characteristics of
bioaerosols by using the high temperature condition. The heating tube was tested against E. coli bacteria
bioaerosols. It was found out that the heating tube had enough potential to be used as the control device against
bioaerosols.
